Diocesan Archive of Conversano (ADC): returns the first vols.

On August 19, 2010 officers Domenico Zito Alessandro Laterza and the Carabinieri Tutela Patrimonio Culturale di Bari have delivered a first batch of cultural goods (excluding manuscripts and scrolls) belonging to the ADC and found in Chicago in cooperation with the FBI
This is only a wealth of books of different topics, with emphasis on Latin and Italian literature and mathematics with dates chronic ranging from '500 to the nineteenth century, as you can see from the list in the Annex.
Of particular note are:
- Alfabeticum protocollorum the manuscript of the notary Francesco Giuliani: The notary shall draw up in alphabetical order
contractors - by name according to the custom of the time - of all the acts he Rogati 1596 to 1647.
Needless to say, these acts constitute a rich mine of information very valuable for historical research, place names, legal and so on. The Giuliani represents a milestone in the history of exchanges, even though, unfortunately, little known and ignored to the point that he was not even a dedicated city street. Of his works "systematic" have only fragmentary parts of the manuscript in the Vatican Library that have been used for the publication of Italy Ferdinando Ughelli sacred.
Our Tarsia (Historiarum Cupersanensium tres books, printed in Madrid in 1649) recognizes the historical record and repeatedly praised the work of town. Currently, more detailed studies on Giuliani was due to the prof. Iact Franco Conversano, awaiting only an organic printed edition.
- Waiting to be discovered is the manuscript of Louis Net Wise physics, dated 1 September 1859. It consists of 177 numbered pages, plus other 7 is divided into 12 paragraphs and Dissertations, which are accompanied by related experiments. - The famous work De re diplomatic books sex by Jean Mabillon, the founder of palaeography and diplomatic, published for the first time in 1681, recounts and repeats through the plates engraved writings that have occurred over the centuries from Roman primae Aetatis writing. The edition that was returned was printed in folio in Naples in 1789 and annex it offer the beautiful illustrations Table XVII.
- Finally, is the very nice Canon Missae ad usum episcoporum of 1745, the whole covered with leather, engravings and ornaments in gold, central crest bishop and several full-page engravings of which offer attached with the one dated in 1735 names of their artists.
