How To Find Replacement Towel Rack

Day 5 (five). Technique 1, the battery.

Today is Sunday. Unlike what was said yesterday, we decided to rest a bit. The guides are completed, the structures defined. Now everything is ready for the first takes of drums and a day off can only benefit us all.
To record this album we went to study Twelve Records of Tocco da Casauria. The study is not just in country but close to the Via Tiburtina, a couple of miles from the motorway A24 Torre De Passeri.

The heart of the system is old (the most fashionable say "vintage") bench MBI Series 24 from the end of the 70 fully functional and revised in its entirety from the audio studios of the BBC Glasgow. For those with expertise Needless to say on what sound can be obtained from such a machine.

The bench is interfaced with a Protools system, now standard widespread in almost all recording studios. The sample rate selected is 96 kHz, fully possessed of good in this Paul .. But Andrea has decided, he is stubborn.

To listen to have three different solutions, of course, all managed by the bank in contemporary art: a pair of Genelec 1029, a pair of Genelec 1030 and a pair of big beautiful monitor Rogers LS 5 / 8 driven by a pair of Quad 405. Rogers also has almost thirty years, but do their job like few. For audiophiles curious posted this interesting link ( http://www.mhennessy3.f9.co.uk ) to understand what you speak.

With regard to the outboard we decided not to use the machines available to us but to record everything flat. We already have a good preamp from the bench If anything were to serve and we will use in the mix without maybe some plug.

As we are using the microphones on the drums:
  • Neumann TLM 193, chest, about three feet from the resonant head. And 'he who will do most of the work on the battery. On airy pieces, like "Lu" will do everything myself maybe or maybe, at most, a couple of other "colleagues".
  • Sennheiser MD 421 still on the case, flying to 10 cm from the skin, near the foot so to speak. Works great.
  • Shure SM 57, classical, snare, above.
  • Electrovoice Cardinal, beautiful, under the snare drum.
  • Sennheiser MD 421 on toms.
  • Sennheiser MD 421 at the eardrum.
  • 105 Marshall stereo for over a couple of feet from the plate positioned on the top
It must be said that the recording room is 5 meters high and then there will be a beautiful natural environment. If we needed a hand on the plates will also use 2 CAD GLX 5500 reinforced and another Neumann (of which I can not remember the initials) on the charlie.

However we are confident that the result will be better.
